Investigating My favorite music video and their Director's style
I really liked the "Sub Urban- Cradles" for its cinematography and vivid imagery
CRADLES directed by Andrew Donoho
His music videos have amazing lighting and visual effects; as in cradles the dance of the mannequins and the light strings, blurring the difference between reality and imagination. This is one of the strengths of Andrew Donoho.
With strong editing skills, we might be able to recreate this but as his videos are made on a great professional level it might be difficult for us to recreate such immaculate cinematography.
BUILD A BI**H This is another music video directed by him and the use of strong storytelling can be seen here. he brings attention to the objectification of women through metaphoric expressions like designing women actually like dolls that could be customized. I really like this idea of metaphoric expression of narrative and would try to reciprocate if my idea aligns with such representation.
However, after watching all these videos, I got a general idea of how to combine performance, story, and visual effects to create a music video. Now I can easily plan our own music video.
